Jikiden Reiki Shoden level is all about learning practical “hands-on” Reiki. This course, is suitable for complete beginners and experienced Reiki practitioners… Everyone starts here.
You will be learning Authentic Japanese energy healing with Debbie-Ann Champion, Jikiden Reiki is Reiki in its original form with nothing added or left out, with cultural and spiritual roots intact...
This 2 day course is focused on you gaining effective, practical skills to use this hand healing art with confidence. Giving you life-long Reiki skills to positively support your own health and that of others, if you wish.
When Usui Sensei was asked "if I can heal others, can I heal myself?" his reply was "Undoubtedly, If you can't heal yourself, how can you heal others?"
Following Reiju... Where the hands go Reiki will flow... to yourself or someone else.
Receiving Reiju awakens the dormant healing abilities of a person who can then transmit/channel Reiki. Reiju is performed person to person; that is by a Shihan/Teacher to the Learner… we use the original method passed down and developed by Mikao Usui Sensei.
This Shoden level course is the first step... after this you can take Okuden Level in the same month if you wish, so you have all the skills for "inviting health and happiness" that Usui Sensei developed for Reiki practitioners.
At Shoden Level You will learn
- What Reiki is and how it works, accelerating the body's natural healing ability
- The concept of Byosen, so you will know where to place your hands during Reiki treatments
- The first Shirushi (Symbol), when and how to use it
- Why we chant the Gokai in Japanese…and practice Gassho meditation
- Techniques to enhance the sensitivity and feel the Reiki flow in your hands...
- About the history and background of Jikiden Reiki and its roots back to Mikao Usui Sensei
You receive Reiju THREE times over the 2 days.
There will be time to experience giving treatments and receiving Reiki with fellow participants. This course is a mixture of theory and "hands-on" practice, with a heavy emphasis on Daily skills for self-healing.
This is an official Jikiden Reiki training course with Debbie-Ann Champion, a registered and certified Shihan/Teacher with the Jikiden Reiki Institute, in Kyoto, Japan.
Your Shoden Level course fee includes:
- The comprehensive training manual – in English
- An English and a traditional Japanese woodblock certificates
Certificates and training manual are all issued by the Jikiden Reiki Institute, where you will be registered following this course. English Certificates are presented on the last day of the Shoden training course – Your Japanese certificate will be posted on to you when it arrives from Japan.
There are no written exams at this level.
A simple vegetarian lunch will be provided… but please bring your own packed lunch if you prefer. Drinks will be available throughout the day.

The UK Shoden Level course fee is £260
with payment in full required to secure your place.
Please note this fee has been set by the Jikiden Reiki Institute, in Japan by Sensei Tadao Yamaguchi.
The Repeat Jikiden Reiki Shoden level fee is £90
Sometimes people wish to refresh what they have learnt, once they have started putting the Shoden course into practice... they are ready to ask those pertinent questions... as our sensitivity to Reiki increases with our daily practice. So many students are surprised at how much they get out of repeating... often saying it has deepened their understanding of Jikiden Reiki.
Those wishing to become Jikiden Reiki teachers, are now requested to repeat Shoden and Okuden with their original teacher and many professional therapists may wish to repeat for CPD reasons.
